Code Vibrant has been shifted from the Easy Digital Download system to Freemius. This was done to help us ensure an accessible and comprehensive platform for our users and ease their efforts.

Why did we choose Freemius?

Easy Digital Download was a wonderful product. It was basically developed for digital products like ours while also being lightweight and efficient. Moreover, the system was perfect for our developers, as it provided us with hooks and filters for extending our plugin’s functionality.

However, it should be known that EDD is a self-hosted e-commerce solution that allows its users to sell digital products easily. But Freemius is your managed e-commerce engine, effectively made for selling WordPress themes and plugins. Furthermore, Freemius also offers much-needed features that are very beneficial when it comes to strengthening our services for our faithful users.

What services and features will you receive after switching to Freemius?

After switching to Freemius, you will receive a comprehensive suite of services and features, including secure checkout, software licensing, subscriptions, automatic updates, EU VAT handling, actionable analytics, cart abandonment recovery, marketing automation, and a complete affiliate platform.

Upon choosing Freemius, users can expect:

1. Simplified purchase process: You can directly buy the products from your WordPress dashboard.

You’ll have to get a new password for your new Freemius account!

Since we cannot fully access your login credentials, we request that you fetch a new password.

You can do it by clicking on Forgot your Password

To do so:

• Go to CodeVibrant’s Account Page
• Then click on the Forget your Password? link in the window

• Add your e-mail address in the following section.
• Then you’ll find a password reset link where you can enter a new password for your account.

After that: 

1. Log in with your credentials (e-mail address and newly created password).
2. You will be redirected to the Freemius Dashboard, where you can see all of the related information, like themes or plugins you’ve purchased.
3. Download the themes or plugins you have purchased if you have to.

For Theme

1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
2. Go to the Themes option from the side panel and click on Add New Theme.
3. After that, again, click on Upload New Theme and add the one that you’ve downloaded previously.
4. Add the license key you’ve obtained after downloading the theme.

For Plugin

1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
2. Download your plugin from the user dashboard, then click on the plugin option in the WordPress dashboard.
3. Click on Add New Plugin and click on the Upload New Plugin option.
4. Add the downloaded file and enter your license key from the user dashboard.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What will happen to our license key and usage?

Your license key will remain the same as in EDD and will work without any issues in Freemius.

2. Do you have to do anything from your side?

Once you’ve activated your license key, it should automatically carry over after updating the theme. If it doesn’t, or if you’re activating it for the first time and something goes wrong, you might see a license activation prompt. Just enter your license key there. You can locate your key in the purchase confirmation email or on your Code Vibrant account page.

3. If I’m using the license on my client sites, how do I hide my account information?

To hide sensitive information from your clients, you can do it from your User Dashboard.

1. Go to your user dashboard, then click the Websites tab
2. Click on the website where you want to hide the sensitive information
3. After that, a window appears; scroll down until you see the License Security section.
4. Then look for “This license is activated on my client(s) site(s)” and check the box.
5. Done!

4. My ‘Orders History’ and ‘Renewals & Billings’ tabs are empty. Why?

If your “Order History” or “Renew and Billings” tabs are empty, then it is due to shifting from Easy Digital Downloads to Freeemius. The orders and other transactions made during the EDD period will not be shown to the users on the account page.

If you are looking for order details, you can refer to the email sent to your email address at the time of purchase

Also, if you are looking to download the invoice for those orders made before we shifted to the new system, please contact us via our contact page and we will provide it to you.

For new orders/purchases, your invoice can be downloaded right from the Mystery Themes account page under the Orders History tab.
